The Rise Of A New Dynasty
Many were quick to count out the Cincinnati Bengals going into the 2021-22 season being that they went 4-12 last season with no signs of life. Also, just before they kicked off the new season, their SB56 odds had reached a high point of +18000.
Things quickly changed after the seasons start as their odds shot down to +8500 after four weeks of the season following their 3-1 start. Their next big jump came just three weeks later when they were listed at +3500 after going 5-2.
Their odds stayed in the +2500 and +5000 range until the start of the playoffs when they dropped to +1500 after winning the AFC North division for the first time since 2015. They ended up finishing their season with a 10-7 record.
Going into the playoffs, there were tons of doubters pointing their way as well and they continued to prove them wrong. They were 6-point favorites against the Las Vegas Raiders in the Wild Card Round and won 26-19. In the Divisional Round, they were 4-point underdogs to the Tennessee Titans and took care of business as they won 19-16 despite Joe Burrow being sacked a record nine times.
Looking at the AFC Championship game against the Kansas City Chiefs, they are underdogs once again, but this time by 7 points. They are favored to cover the spread with -115 odds though considering they have covered in their last six games.
