CANTON, Ohio – The Las Vegas Raiders face off against the Jacksonville Jaguars in the first game of the NFL Preseason – the Hall Of Fame Game.

The spread for the matchup favors the Raiders by two points, which, if the Raiders are the same team they were in 2021, is a tough ask. The Raiders were only 1-5 against the spread when they were favorites in 2021, were 3-4 against the spread as favorites in 2020, and 1-3 against the spread as favorites in 2019.

The last time they weren’t negative against the spread as favorites was 2018, when the Raiders were 1-1 ATS in their two games favored.

The Jaguars enter this matchup on a 1-8 ATS skid, and finished last season with a woeful 5-12 record against the spread.

Neither team wants to be the team they were in 2021 anymore. The Raiders signed Davante Adams, while the Jaguars added Christian Kirk as well as #1 draft pick Travon Walker.

The Raiders were 3-3 straight up in games that they were favored to win in the 2021 season, while the Jaguars were 3-12 in games they were underdogs.

Since this is the Hall of Fame Game, scoring is expected to be incredibly low, with an O/U betting odds set at 33.5 points.

The 2021 Hall of Fame Game between the Dallas Cowboys and the Pittsburgh Steelers saw a total of 19 points, although others have been more high scoring.

The Jaguars are painfully known for hitting unders. In 2021, 12 of Jacksonville’s 17 games did not hit the over, giving them a 70.6% under percentage.

That, combined with the history of the game being low scoring, should tell bettors that the Under is a solid wager.
