- Russell Wilson’s passing yard total is set at 244.5 yards.
- Russell Wilson is favored to throw over 1.5 touchdowns with -165 odds.
DENVER – Russell Wilson and the Denver Broncos will be at home in Week 2 against the Houston Texans as a massive 10-point favorite on the spread. This also marks just the fourth time in his career that Wilson will go up against the Texans in which he has a 3-0 record against them.
NFL oddsmakers are expecting a big game from Wilson With his player props set at 244.5 passing yards and 1.5 touchdowns with shading on the over at -165 odds.
Russell Wilson – Total Passing Yards
- Over 244.5 -115
- Over 244.5 -115
Russell Wilson – Total Passing Touchdowns
- Over 1.5 -165
- Under 1.5 +125
In his three games against the Texans in his career, Wilson has gone over both the 244.5 passing yard total and 1.5 TD total in two of those games.
Where Will Wilson Find Success?
Wilson proved that even a change of scenery won’t affect his Broncos player prop odds as he smashed a 244.5-yard total last week with 340 yards, however, he recorded just one passing touchdown. Also in Week 1, the Texans allowed Matt Ryan to unleash for 350 yards.
Ryan completed 32/50 passes in Week 1 with 16 completions to the right side of the hash, three in between the hashes, and 13 to the left side of the hash. This could work out well for Wilson in Week 2 as he already showed that he attacks the right side of the hash in Week 1 with 17 of his 29 completions coming on that side of the field.
Wilson could potentially have an easier day than Ryan did on the right side being that Texans left defensive tackle, Maliek Collins, and left defensive end Rasheem Green, popped up on the injury report with a questionable tag for this game.
As for his touchdown total, while Ryan did throw for just one touchdown against this defense, it did come to the right side of the hash. The Texans redzone defense was also one of the worst in the league in Week 1 allowing an abysmal 10.4 yards per completion for 52 yards and a touchdown.
All in all, Wilson should have success hitting the over for both props in this one based on what has been shown of the Texans defense thus far.
