- The Buffalo Bills are the favorites to win the AFC East in 2023 with +125 odds.
- Aaron Rodgers and the New York Jets have +240 odds to win the AFC East.
- For the first time since 2011, the New York Jets have less than +500 AFC East divisional odds.
BUFFALO, N.Y. – Offseason AFC East odds favor the Buffalo Bills to win a fourth consecutive divisional crown. The Jets are next in line at +240 following their major quarterback improvement with four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers.
AFC East Odds: Offseason
- Buffalo Bills +125
- New York Jets +240
- Miami Dolphins +290
- New England Patriots +850
Since Tom Brady’s departure from the New England Patriots after the 2019 season, it’s been the Buffalo Bills’ division to lose. Buffalo has won the AFC East in three consecutive seasons and has +125 odds on football sportsbooks to extend that streak to four in 2023.
The New York Jets have their best roster in likely a decade, with their +240 odds to win the division correlating to that improvement. This season marks the sixth time the Jets have had preseason AFC East odds less than +300 since they won the division in 2002.
In addition to Sauce Gardner and Garret Wilson winning rookie of the year awards, the Jets made a big splash by trading for Aaron Rodgers. New York had one of the best defenses in the NFL in 2022, ranking top five for points and yards allowed per game.
The Jets excellent defense was wasted without consistent quarterback play. The Jets offense ranked in the bottom five of the NFL for completion percentage, touchdowns, and points per game in 2022.
With Aaron Rodgers taking over the offense in 2023 with a familiar offensive coordinator in Nathaniel Hackett, the Jets AFC East odds have value at +240.
The Miami Dolphins +290 AFC East odds aren’t far behind the Jets. The Fins traded for star cornerback Jalen Ramsey in the offseason to bolster their defense that allowed the fifth-most passing yards per game in 2022.
If quarterback Tua Tagovailoa can stay healthy, the Dolphins have plenty of weapons to keep up in the AFC East race. The New England Patriots on the other hand do not, as their +850 odds indicate.
The battle for the AFC East title in 2023 will be an exciting three-team race between the Buffalo Bills, New York Jets, and Miami Dolphins.
