SAN FRANCISCO – The San Francisco 49ers are looking to hold an even tighter grip on the NFC West division and oddsmakers certainly believe they will this season having opened as the preseason favorite to win the division at -150 odds.
Unlike in recent years where three of the four teams in the division could be fighting for a playoff spot, the NFC West has taken a nosedive with the collapse of the Los Angeles and the Arizona Cardinals. That being said, NFL betting sites had an easy decision when deciding on a favorite in the NFC West in the 49ers.
Offseason: NFC West Division Odds
- San Francisco 49ers -150
- Seattle Seahawks +200
- Los Angeles Rams +750
- Arizona Cardinals +2500
San Francisco 49ers (-150)
There is no other option here that holds value to the San Francisco 49ers odds to win the NFC West, making the preseason the best time to get in on them before it’s too late. They have one of the most skilled rosters in the league which was top five in offensive scrimmage yards and led the NFL in scrimmage yards allowed last season.
The only question surrounding the 49ers going into the season is who is going to be starting under center between Brock Purdy and Trey Lance and if they are going to trade one of the two before the season.
Regardless, with the competition in the division on a slight decline, taking their odds sooner rather than later will prove to be beneficial after their odds reached -350 during Week 12 of the season.
Seattle Seahawks (+200)
While the Seattle Seahawks division odds might look pretty, the team as a whole is still a work in progress and they still have tons to prove. Geno Smith is coming off his best season as a pro with 4,282 yards and 30 TDs after only starting two years before that. They do have one of the better receiving cores in the league with DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba.
Where the question still lies though is if they can continue consistently performing at a high level. One season isn’t enough to hammer them to win the division, especially against a more seasoned 49ers team.
Los Angeles Rams (+750)
The Los Angeles Rams odds to win the division are sneaky as they could offer some significant value if they can remain healthy. Many are quick to forget that the Rams won the Super Bowl just two years ago with most of their team still intact from that season.
When healthy, Matthew Stafford could be argued as a top-10 QB in the league. Additionally, Cooper Kupp and Aaron Donald are some of the best players at their position.
Given that they’ve won three of the last six division titles, it’s hard to count their +750 odds out from the beginning.
Arizona Cardinals (+2500)
There is no reason to make any mistake here in betting on the Arizona Cardinals to win the division. They’re an absolute dumpster fire and have no end in sight to their rebuild.
They shockingly traded away the third overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and released DeAndre Hopkins after he and the team failed to see eye to eye.
Also, Kyler Murray is expected to miss the start of the 2023-24 season as he continues to rehab on his torn ACL and meniscus injuries that he suffered last season. Anyone even having a thought of betting on the Cards NFC West odds are better off donating that to their partnering charities.
