Cowboys SB55 Odds Could Shorten With Possible Return Of Dez

• The Dallas Cowboys have +1800 odds to win Super Bowl 55.
• Dez Bryant has the most receiving touchdowns in Dallas Cowboys history with 73.
• Dallas finished the 2019 season with an 8-8 record.

DALLAS – The Dallas Cowboys have had a busy offseason thus far as they’ve fired long time head coach Jason Garrett and replaced him with Mike McCarthy.

Hiring a new head coach was only beginning of a long list of things to do for the Cowboys. At the top of that list is the Cowboys resigning some of their top players like quarterback Dak Prescott, wide receiver Amari Cooper, and cornerback Byron Jones.

Signing all three might be a tall task despite the Cowboys having the $77 million in cap space this offseason especially with how much each position is paid in the NFL today.

However, a familiar name may appear on that offseason to-do list as Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has hinted towards a possible reunion with former wide receiver Dez Bryant.

“I haven’t talked to Dez, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot in the shower,” said Jones. “I have been. I’m not dismissing it. I don’t want it to sound like it should be dismissed by that. I am thinking about it.”

Bryant last played for the Cowboys in 2017, where he recorded 69 receptions, 838 receiving yards, and six touchdowns. After that season Bryant was cut by the Cowboys to reduce his massive cap hit.

He’s spent his entire eight-year career in a Dallas Cowboys uniform and his 73 receiving touchdowns are the most in franchise history. Dez has spent the last year recovering from a torn Achilles he suffered during his first practice with the New Orleans Saints.

But, Bryant seems to be excited about the possibility of a return to America’s Team.

If the Cowboys do bring Bryant back it’d likely be after the team inks Prescott and Cooper first which would likely make the teams +1800 Super Bowl 55 odds even shorter.

Adding Bryant would give the Cowboys one of the deepest wide receiving corps in the NFL especially if Dallas brings back free agents Randall Cobb and Amari Cooper to go alongside an emerging Michael Gallup.

Furthermore, Dez wouldn’t have to be a No. 1 receiver in this group of receivers and that means he could lineup anywhere on the field and even take some snaps as a hybrid tight end.

In his eight-year career, Bryant has been selected to the Pro Bowl three times and has 531 catches, 7,459 yards, and 73 touchdowns. While the Cowboys have bigger priorities, this season right now after the draft and free agency concludes, one of the biggest priorities should be bringing back Dez Bryant on a team-friendly deal.
