INDIANAPOLIS – The NFL offseason is in full swing at the moment, and that means that the 2020 quarterback carousel is spinning wildly already.

The Indianapolis Colts are no stranger to sudden changes at the quarterback position. Before the 2020 season, longtime quarterback Andrew Luck retired early, citing injury prevention. This retirement left the Colts job wide open.

The job was taken by Jacoby Brissett, who had been traded to the Colts from the New England Patriots, who at the time had a glut of good quarterback talent: Brissett, the aforementioned Tom Brady, and Jimmy Garoppolo.

Brissett has proven himself a capable quarterback, earning the respect of his teammates as well as fans around the league.

The Colts started off the season 5-2, a stretch that included a victory over eventual Super Bowl Champions the Kansas City Chiefs, in Kansas City.

However, Brissett soon picked up a knee injury, and his production began to tail off.

This has led to all the usual questions about a quarterback who is something of an unknown quantity and doesn’t have the resume or pedigree that some free agent options do.

In other words: Brissett might not be the starter for the Colts next year.
