AFC Championship Betting
AFC betting odds are some of the most profitable odds available depending on when you get in on them. Coming in the form of future odds that are continuously shifting throughout the season, these odds usually open in the preseason. Before the AFC Championship game, the teams are set, but still offer a way to bet before the Super Bowl happens. This page details the odds to win the AFC Championship in 2024 as well as the odds to win each AFC division.

But along with the Buffalo Bills and Cincinnati Bengals, these five teams are the only ones who opened with preseason AFC Championship odds shorter than +1000.

Most Passing Yards In An AFC Championship Game
Only seven times has a quarterback thrown for more than 350 yards in the AFC Title game, despite Peyton Manning (349), Neil O'Donnell (349), Tom Brady (348), and Dan Fouts (336) falling just short. Still, most of these guys became Super Bowl winning quarterbacks except Marino and Testaverde and Manning is the only person to do it twice. As for Kosar, he won a ring with the Dallas Cowboys during Super Bowl XXVIII but was the backup to Troy Aikman and only played one snap (the final kneel).
Year | Player | Team | Passing Yards |
---|---|---|---|
1985 | Dan Marino | Miami Dolphins | 421 Yards |
2014 | Peyton Manning | Denver Broncos | 400 Yards |
1990 | John Elway | Denver Broncos | 385 Yards |
2017 | Tom Brady | New England Patriots | 384 Yards |
2010 | Peyton Manning | Indianapolis Colts | 377 Yards |
1999 | Vinny Testaverde | New York Jets | 356 Yards |
1988 | Bernie Kosar | Cleveland Browns | 356 Yards |
Most Receiving Yards In An AFC Championship Game
Though it may not seem like a lot, only five players recorded 150 receiving yards or more in an AFC Championship game. As Cliff Branch leads the AFC Title receivers with 186 yards, Pierre Garcon edged the list in 2010, while Mark Duper (148) fell just short in 1985. Garcon also holds the record for most receptions at 11 - joining Julian Edelman (10 catches in 2014) as the only players with 10 or more catches in the AFC Championship.
Year | Player | Team | Receiving Yards |
---|---|---|---|
1974 | Cliff Branch | Las Vegas Raiders | 186 Yards |
2017 | Chris Hogan | New England Patriots | 180 Yards |
2021 | Tyreek Hill | Kansas City Chiefs | 172 Yards |
1978 | Haven Moses | Denver Broncos | 168 Yards |
2010 | Pierre Garcon | Indianapolis Colts | 151 Yards |
AFC North Odds
The only team in the AFC North to not have a title behind their name since the 2002 realignment is the Cleveland Browns. Sitting third to open the year (+500), the favorite status again belongs to the Baltimore Ravens, who secured the #1 seed in the 2023-24 season. The Pittsburgh Steelers lead all AFC North teams with nine division titles, but the majority came before 2010. Fun fact, the team coming out on top of the AFC North division odds has made it to the AFC title game in each of the last three seasons.
2024-25 AFC North Odds
- Baltimore Ravens +135
- Cincinnati Bengals +165
- Cleveland Browns +500
- Pittsburgh Steelers +650
AFC South Odds
Each of the four teams has cashed their AFC South betting odds at least twice since the birth of the division in 2002. Still, the Indianapolis Colts lead the way with nine, however, their last victory happened in 2014. The Houston Texans own six division titles and come in as the preseason favorites in 2024. As for the Jacksonville Jaguars, despite having the least division titles (2), they are next in line behind the Texans. In rebuild mode, the Tennessee Titans are quite the longshot.
2024-25 AFC South Odds
- Houston Texans -120
- Jacksonville Jaguars +315
- Indianapolis Colts +360
- Tennessee Titans +900
AFC East Odds
Arguably the toughest AFC division in the 2024 season, this one is truly up in the air without the Patriots leading the charge anymore. The AFC East division odds have three teams with odds under +230 to start the year, indicating just how close the race truly is. Winning the last four titles, the Buffalo Bills open as favorites, though the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins follow closely behind. Both looking to play spoiler, it would be a great feat for the Jets or Dolphins who haven't won the AFC title since 2002 and 2008, respectively.
2024-25 AFC East Odds
- Buffalo Bills +165
- New York Jets +170
- Miami Dolphins +215
- New England Patriots +2500
AFC West Odds

Winners of the last eight titles, the Chiefs have kept the Broncos (2015) and Chargers (2009) from winning for 10 years or more. As for the Las Vegas Raiders, their last title came in 2002, where they lost in Super Bowl XXXVII to the Buccaneers 21–48.
