- The Tampa Bay Buccaneers went into the NFC Championship Game with +400 odds to win the Super Bowl.
TAMPA BAY, Fla.—The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have secured their spot in Super Bowl LV where they will be the first team to ever play the Super Bowl on their home field.
Taking a look back at how the Buccaneers season went, NFL sportsbooks doubted them prior to the season as they opened up the Super Bowl odds at +5000 even before Tom Brady signed with them. For those bettors that followed the Tom Brady rumors and got in on the Buccaneers’ odds early, they are still in play for the best possible payout from the Bucs odds.
Once Brady announced that he was signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, bettors were still able to get nice odds on them as they dropped to +2500 before ultimately dropping under +2000 a day later.
Fast forward to when the season started, the Buccaneers spent the better part of September and October with odds well over +1000 being that Tom Brady and the Buccaneers were still getting their chemistry together.
Once November rolled around, it was the complete opposite as they saw their odds sit under +1000 for almost the entire month despite going 2-3.
Come December and the early parts of January before the playoffs began, the Buccaneers odds sat over +1100 for all but one day until finally going into the playoffs with +867 odds to win the Super Bowl.
Buccaneers Playoff History
Now that the Buccaneers have secured their spot in Super Bowl 55, this now marks their second trip to the Super Bowl since the year 2000. The Buccaneers actually won the Super Bowl in their first appearance where they took down the then Oakland Raiders with a final score of 48-21 after going into the game being seen as 3.5-point underdogs.
The Buccaneers win in the NFC Championship game against the Green Bay Packers also marks just their second NFC title as well. Not to mention, this was also just their second appearance in the NFC Championship game as well.
Looking back at the star-studded career of Tom Brady, he is certainly no stranger to the NFL playoffs at all. With this playoff run, this marks Brady’s 18th playoff appearance, 10th conference championship and 10th trip to the Super Bowl where he could possibly win his seventh Super Bowl championship.
