- The Kansas City Chiefs lead the Super Bowl 56 betting odds at +500.
- The San Francisco 49ers (+1400) and LA Rams (+1200) round out the top 6.
- Both NFC West teams are well ahead of their division rivals, creating a solid hedging situation later in 2021.
LOS ANGELES – After a Super Bowl that saw the Tampa Bay Buccaneers wreak havoc on the Kansas City Chiefs, oddsmakers were quick to release the Super Bowl 56 betting odds. Moments after the game ended, Super Bowl sportsbooks dropped the lines, which saw the Chiefs as the favorite, despite losing in the Super Bowl.
Under Patrick Mahomes, it is always a safe bet to have the Chiefs’ betting odds in one’s back pocket. The Chiefs are 38-8 with Mahomes under center and have found themselves in the Super Bowl in back to back seasons.
However, Mahomes will undergo turf toe surgery and some are wondering if this will impact the Chiefs’ dominance on the betting board.

The Chiefs find themselves as one of two teams with Super Bowl 56 odds under +1100. As the Green Bay Packers, Buffalo Bills, and Baltimore Ravens round out the next stage of odds listed, serious bettors shouldn’t be too quick to overlook the San Francisco 49ers or LA Rams.
Both in the NFC West – arguably the toughest division in the league – the Rams and 49ers are both ranked ahead of the Seattle Seahawks and Arizona Cardinals by a pretty significant standard. As the Seahawks (2) won the last division title, both the Rams (2) and 49ers (1) also have this accolade over the last five seasons, with the Cardinals left out.
Making the playoffs won’t come down to the division winner, as the expanded playoffs could allow for three of these teams to find their way into the postseason. With this, taking the early Super Bowl odds is wise, with the California betting following ready to support the Rams and 49ers, moving their line even shorter come the start of the NFL season.
Both teams are led by defenses that have proven to be successful in the postseason, making a trip to the Super Bowl over two of the last three seasons. Though neither was able to secure the Lombardi Trophy, both were both close enough to getting it and far enough removed from still living off the NFC Championship glory to still be proud.
If both offenses can continue on their path of growth, Super Bowl 56 is a very achievable goal for these NFC West teams.
