- The Denver Broncos have the shortest odds at -220 of having Von Miller on their roster for the first game of the season.
- Von Miller’s 106 career sacks are the most by one player in Denver Broncos history.
- The Green Bay Packers have the second shortest odds of landing Von Miller by Week 1 of the NFL regular season.
DENVER – The Denver Broncos had a season to forget with Covid-19 and injuries pushing the team to a 5-11 finish that placed them dead last in the AFC West.
Of the many injuries the Broncos roster endured through the 2020 NFL season, none hurt their team more than losing franchise sack leader Von Miller due to an ankle injury that caused him to be placed on IR before he could even play a game.

Throughout his career, Miller has proven that he is one of the best edge rushers in the NFL over the past decade, and he’s still got a lot of football left in the tank. In the last season Miller was healthy he recorded eight sacks, ten tackles for a loss, and 20 quarterback hits in just 15 games.
However, with police in Colorado investigating it could give the Broncos pause as to whether they’ll bring back the defensive lineman on the final year of a six-year $114.5 million contract. If Miller is on the Broncos roster when the new league year starts, he will carry a $22.12 million cap hit, which could result in Denver releasing him or asking him to take a pay cut.
"We want to bring Von back."

New Broncos GM George Paton told ESPN that the team wants the future hall of Famer in Miller back this season.
“We want to bring Von back; we’re still working through that, I don’t want to get into everything, but we want to bring him back. Obviously, the legal process, what he’s going through, it’s a serious situation, obviously, and I don’t know all the details, but we respect what’s going on. We do want Von back.”
The Broncos GM Paton saying he wants Miller back is big as Bovada has listed betting odds on what team the eight-time Pro Bowler will play for.
Where Will Von Miller Play For Game 1 Of The 2021 Regular Season
- Denver Broncos -220
- Green Bay Packers +500
- Cleveland Browns +550
- Buffalo Bills +600
- Tennessee Titans +700
- Las Vegas Raiders +1400
- Pittsburgh Steelers +1500
The Broncos have the shortest odds of having Miller on the roster for Week 1 of the regular season at -220. Based on the Broncos’ stance on Miller returning there should be little doubt that he remains in Denver for at least this season thus making the -220 odds the best bet.
For bettors looking for an option outside of Denver’s -220 odds, there are two teams that could afford to make a move for a player of Von Miller’s caliber to boost their Super Bowl stock.
Green Bay Packers (+500)
The Green Bay Packers were reportedly in the running for JJ Watt before he decided to sign with the Arizona Cardinals. The Packers have made the NFC Championship game the past two seasons but have not made the Super Bowl. Adding Miller opposite of Za’Darius Smith on the defensive line could help put Green Bay’s defense over the top.
The +500 odds on Miller being on the Packer for Week 1 are worth a small wager if not taking the -220 odds on the Broncos. The Packers are in win-now mode as Aaron Rodgers enters the final stages of his career and they’ll have to get creative to make cap space for Miller.
Nonetheless, that can’t be ruled out as a possible destination for Miller, especially if he wants to compete for a Super Bowl again before retiring.
Buffalo Bills (+600)
The Buffalo Bills are another team looking to bolster their defensive front and Miller would bring veteran leadership to the unit. The Bills took the league by storm this year and look to be a playoff contender for years to come.
Adding Miller would do nothing but make Buffalo one of the strongest contenders for an AFC title behind the Kansas City Chiefs. The Bills having +600 odds to have Miller on the roster are a good longshot option as it’s no secret Buffalo has been on the hunt for defensive lineman. The Bills have a little bit of cap space to work with but could also send the Broncos draft capital in exchange for Miller.
