- Kyle Pitts has +750 odds to win the Offensive Rookie Of The Year.
ATLANTA - As the NFL season inches closer and closer, one of the more interesting season-long futures odds that bettors could get in on early are the odds for who will win the Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Right now, NFL sportsbooks currently have Trevor Lawrence listed as the favorite to walk away as the Offensive Rookie of the Year, however, bettors should no be counting out Kyle Pitts just yet.
2021-2022 Offensive Player Of The Year Odds
- Trevor Lawrence +350
- Kyle Pitts +750
- Mac Jones +750
- Ja’Marr Chase +800
- Trey Lance +800
- Justin Fields +900
- Najee Harris +900
- Zach Wilson +1000
- DeVonta Smith +1200
- Javonte Williams +1600
The main reason that Pitts should not be counted out is the fact that he could potentially have a bigger impact on the Atlanta Falcons offense than Trevor Lawrence could have for the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Not to take anything away from what Lawrence can do on the field, but he will be getting a tremendous amount of help from not only receivers like DJ Chark and Marvin Jones, but also from running backs Travis Etienne and James Robinson who will help churn that offense as well.
As for Pitts, he will have to do it on his own and make similar plays to what he did in college as he has proven that he could be a lethal threat to any opposing defense.
Moving on, Pitts will be treated as the number two receiving option on this Falcons offense now that Julio Jones is no longer on the team. That alone should open up more than enough opportunities for Matt Ryan to find his new tight end.
Not to mention, when it comes to the Falcons and their tight ends, the starting tight end has ranked in the top 11 in the league in terms of efficiency for the last three seasons as they see tons of volume thrown their way.
Something else to keep in mind here is the Falcons upcoming schedule to see how their opponents did against tight ends in the 2020 season. On their schedule right now, there are five weeks where they face teams that ranked in the bottom ten when it came to defending opposing tight ends and those teams are the New York Jets, Jacksonville Jaguars, Philadelphia Eagles and the Carolina Panthers, who they see two times.
With that being said, there are plenty of opportunities out there for Pitts to make a name for himself and win the award.
