Bengals Defense Standing Strong
After having a bottom-15 defense in terms of points allowed last season, the Bengals have completely flipped the switch this year. Last season, the Bengals allowed 26.5 ppg to opponents which was the 11th most in the league. This season, they are in the top-15 in the fewest points allowed at 22.6 points allowed per game.
The Bengals front seven has proven to be one of the best in the league.
In 2020, they were the fourth-worst run defense in the league allowing 148 yards per game. Now they are in the top 10 allowing just 100.9 rushing yards per game.
Notable Performances
Looking at what the Bengals have done so far this season, they have taken down some of the league's top teams. Right out of the gate, the Bengals took down the Minnesota Vikings in an overtime win.
In Week 3, the Bengals took down their division rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers. This was a huge win being that it is their second win in a row over them in a series that the Steelers own 67-37.
Although they lost in Week 5 to the Green Bay Packers, the fact that they took Aaron Rodgers to overtime is impressive in itself.
Their most impressive win though came over the Baltimore Ravens in a blowout 41-17 win as the Ravens are currently listed with the fifth shortest odds to win the Super Bowl at +1000.
