- Jalen Hurts’ passing yard total is set at 211.5.
- There are -125 odds for Patrick Mahomes to stay under 24.5 completions.
NEW ORLEANS – Two of the NFL’s finest at the quarterback positions will go head to head one final time this season at Super Bowl 59 between the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles.
There are several props offered for both Jalen Hurts and Patrick Mahomes on Super Bowl 59 prop betting sites. Two prop odds to keep an eye on specifically are Jalen Hurts’ passing yard total and Patrick Mahomes’ completion total.
Jalen Hurts Lays It All Out At SB59
Jalen Hurts Total Passing Yards
- Over 211.5 -110
- Under 211.5 -110
While some might argue that this could be too high of a number for Hurts, there is value that supports him going over his Eagles Super Bowl prop odds. Starting with his performance in the NFC Championship, Hurts torched the Washington Commanders, the third best passing defense in the league for 246 yards.
As for the Chiefs defense, their secondary allows just under 220 yards per game to opposing QBs. However, their run defense is top-10 in the league. While there really is no containing Saquon Barkley, they could limit his production enough to force Hurts and the Philly offense to test a middling secondary and throw more often here.
Bettors should also take into consideration that sportsbooks are high on AJ Brown (71.5) and DeVonta Smith (51.5) receiving yard totals which helps out Hurts even more.
Hurts passed for 304 yards in Super Bowl 57 against the Chiefs as well.
Too Many Completions For Mahomes
Patrick Mahomes Total Passing Completions
- Over 24.5 -105
- Under 24.5 -125
While the Chiefs have cruised their way to a third straight Super Bowl, it’s been anything but pretty for Mahomes passing the ball and now he gets a tough test against the number one ranked passing defense in the NFL. That said, his Chiefs prop odds for completions is just too high of a number.
Mahomes has stayed not just under 24.5 completions in both playoff games, but under 20 completions in both games as well. In fact, since 2022, Mahomes has stayed under 24.5 completions in six of nine games. That also includes at Super Bowl 57 against the Eagles.
In the Eagles last 10 games, they’ve held eight opposing QBs to under 24.5 completions. Dating back to last season which is the last time they played Kanas City, Mahomes stayed under in that matchup as well.
