INDIANAPOLIS – As the 2021 NFL season reaches the halfway point a couple of teams have underdog odds to make the playoffs but remain viable options.
Indianapolis Colts (+120)
The Indianapolis Colts are currently second in the AFC South, but have an easier ride than many other teams to the playoffs. While the Tennessee Titans are seemingly running away with the division, the Colts have a couple of easy wins against the Texans and Jaguars in the division.
Indianapolis Colts To Make Playoffs
- Yes +120
- No -150
Indy has what should be four free wins. Games against the Texans, Jets and Jaguars (2) which should put them right in contention for the Wild Card as long as they take a couple of other games as well.
Minnesota Vikings (+150)
The Minnesota Vikings are in a similar spot as the Colts. They’re second in their division and have remaining games against easy division opponents. The Vikings will play the Lions and Bears (2) and still has two meetings against the Green Bay Packers in which they could close the gap in the NFC North.
Minnesota Vikings To Make Playoffs
- Yes +150
- No -180
The Vikings haven’t missed the playoffs in back-to-back seasons since 2013-2014. Considering they’re coming off of their BYE week, they have a good chance to improve to 4-3 which would vastly improve their playoff chances.
New England Patriots (+260)
Believe it or not, the New England Patriots are much better than their 3-4 record shows. New England has a +39 point differential which ranks seventh in the NFL and ahead of teams like the Ravens, Packers and Raiders.
New England Patriots To Make Playoffs
- Yes +260
- No -320
Those betting on the NFL can expect new England’s positive point differential to start making a bigger impact in the win column as the season goes on. The Patriots have the 12th-easiest remaining schedule in the league.
Denver Broncos (+375)
The Denver Broncos, unlike the other teams mentioned, are last in their division currently but also have just the second-best point differential in the AFC West. With the Chiefs failing to meet up to expectations, the division is unexpectedly wide open.
Denver Broncos To Make Playoffs
- Yes +375
- No -550
Denver has only played one division game and with every team being within a game or two of each other, there’s ample opportunity to make a splash. Given the +375 odds, this playoff longshot could be worth betting on.
