- Ryan Tannehill has season totals of 28.5 touchdowns and 4200.5 yards.
- The Tennessee Titans win total is set at 9.5 with the Over having -135 odds.
- The Titans have a -150 betting line to make the playoffs and a +2500 line to win the Super Bowl
NASHVILLE – The Tennessee Titans are coming off of an 11-5 season on the back of Derrick Henry who ran for over 2,000 yards. However, there’s a fair case to be made that Henry can’t succeed without a reliable quarterback like Ryan Tannehill.
Ryan Tannehill’s Season Totals
Ryan Tannehill is one of the very few quarterbacks who turned and handed the ball off more often than he dropped back to pass in 2020. The Tennessee Titans were just one of three teams to rush the ball on over 50% of their offensive snaps.
However, NFL betting sites are projecting a career-best season for Tannehill in 2021.
Ryan Tannehill Passing Yards Total
- Over 4200.5 -115
- Under 4200.5 -115
Ryan Tannehill Passing Touchdowns Total
- Over 28.5 -120
- Under 28.5 -110
Tannehill combined for 3819 yards and 33 touchdowns in 2020. His ability to hit his season totals may be largely dependent on how often the team decides to run the ball.
Last season, Henry led the league in total carries by a pretty significant margin and also led the league in 2019.
It’s possible that the team tries to give Henry a rest when capable which would result in more passing attempts for Tannehill. He averaged the same number of yards per attempt as Josh Allen and more than Russell Wilson but didn’t get nearly the attempts.
If he gets his chances, he could very easily go past both of these totals. There is a 17th game this season which likely inflates the numbers a bit, but it should be noted that Tannehill has reached 4200 yards just once back in 2015 when he tallied 4208 yards.
Titans Team Totals And Projected Success
Derrick Henry gets a lot of the credit as he had one of the best rushing seasons of all time, but the question remains if he would’ve been able to do so without Tannehill being a legit threat through the air. Online sportsbooks seem to project a bit of a fall-off from last season.
Tennessee Titans 2021/22 Total Wins
- Over 9.5 -135
- Under 9.5 +105
Last season was the first time that the Titans hit double-digit wins in a season since 2008.
But the team arguably has a better roster than a season ago and should be able to hit 10 wins with relative ease - at least easy enough to make the playoffs, which the oddsmakers also believe will happen.
Tennessee Titans To Make Playoffs
- Yes -150
- No +115
The 2020 season marked the first time that Tennessee won the AFC South since 2008 as well. The books believe the Titans will win the division in consecutive years for the first time since 1960-1962 when George Blanda was leading the team.
AFC South Division Winner Odds
- Tennessee Titans -130
- Indianapolis Colts +170
- Jacksonville Jaguars +650
- Houston Texans +2500
However, the success is expected to end there as the team has the seventh shortest odds in the AFC to win the conference (+1400) and the 11th shortest odds to win the Super Bowl (+2500). If Tannehill can match his efficiency from last season and is given a little more freedom in the passing game, they could defy the odds.
