- Jameis Winston could be on the move out of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization.
- Winston led the league in both total yardage and interceptions thrown.
- The last play of the season for the Buccaneers was Winston throwing an overtime, game-losing pick-six to hit his 30th interception for the season.
TAMPA BAY, Fla. – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been a team entirely focused on the talents of one Jameis Winston for years now.
When it comes to talents, Jameis is talented in multiple ways. Those talents involved leading the league with over 5,000 yards passing and leading the league with 30 interceptions.
Jameis’ rare ability to be the best player on the field for both teams is something that is truly unique about the man. His recent eye surgery, however, could improve his accuracy. Winston has apparently played football all his life while being nearsighted.
Asked Bruce Arians about Jameis Winston’s vision issues. His response was simply: “He’s near-sighted. He can’t see the scoreboard, but he can see the guys in front of him.” #Bucs

There have been well-publicized clashes between Winston and Buccaneers' head coach Bruce Arians over how the team should value him.
Winston is entering a year where the Bucs could franchise tag him, but remains a questionably distressed asset, which means that the Bucs are in a quagmire of sorts, and have to decide whether to bet their future on a guy who threw 30 interceptions, but also led the league in yards while nearsighted to the point of needing surgery.
Jameis Remaining On The Bucs Odds
Right now, many of the online sportsbooks are offering odds on whether or not Jameis Winston will be the starting quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in week one of the 2020 NFL season.
Per BetOnline’s sportsbook, Winston is likely to be gone. BetOnline gives Winston -250 odds to not start Week 1 for the Bucs, and +170 odds to actually be the starter in Tampa Bay when the season kicks off in 2020.
So, if he isn’t staying, then where is he going?
Where Does Jameis Winston End Up?
This is an interesting question. Assuming Winston is not tagged by the Bucs, he will be free to explore the open market and see what his value is elsewhere.
While sportsbooks have not opened odds on his destination specifically, many sportsbooks are offering odds on who will be the starter for various other teams, and Winston tends to appear in those lists.
By examining those, bettors can gain a better sense of where the sportsbooks think he is likely to end up.
The Los Angeles Chargers have a quarterback opening after Phillip Rivers finally parted ways with them. Winston is +1200 to be the Chargers starting quarterback in Week 1 of the 2020 NFL season.
The New England Patriots might have a quarterback opening if the legendary Tom Brady decides to leave. Winston is +2000 to be the Patriots' new quarterback.
The point here is, if Winston leaves, there likely will be competition for his services, but will he end up in a better spot? Only time can tell.
