SAN ANTONIO, Texas – The stage is set for the XFL Championship game between the DC Defenders and the Arlington Renegades with a 6.5-point spread on the game, and the Defenders are favored to win.
XFL Championship: DC Defenders Vs. Arlington Renegades
- Moneyline: Defenders (-250) vs. Renegades (+210)
- Spread: Defenders -6.5
- Total: 46.5 Points
There are no doubts as to why XFL online sportsbooks have the Defenders favored being that they finished the year with the best record in the league at 9-1 and were one of the most efficient offenses on the year as well. They threw a league-low of just four interceptions and were sacked the least in the league at just 10. They also led the XFL in total offensive touchdowns with 33.
Many might say that the Renegades making it to the game was a fluke and there are reasons to believe that other than their XFL odds. Their offense was the lowest scoring in the XFL this season with just 12 total touchdowns which is the least of any other team, and have under 3 total one and two-point conversions as well.
In terms of points scored per game, they are on opposite sides of the spectrum with DC leading the league at 29.8 ppg and Arlington last with 14.6 ppg.
Defense Wins Games
It’s a similar story on defense between the two as well with the Defenders known as a defensive force and the Renegades a bottom-tier defense. The Defenders lead the XFL in interceptions returned for a touchdown, are second in forced fumbles (9), third in fumbles recovered (8), and second in total tackles (447). Both teams are also similar in points allowed per game each allowing around 20 ppg to opponents.
Looking back to their earlier meeting in the regular season, DC bested Arlington with a 28-26 win.
Given the separation between the two on both offense and defense, the Defenders could cruise to a win here in the championship game and cover the spread.
